| SESSION OUTLINE FOCUS: (10 minutes) Welcome students to class but do not make any mention of the refreshment table. If students ask, refer them to the sign that says instructions will be given later. Ask students to share one interesting thing that happened to them last week, or a prayer request for themselves or someone they know. Close the time of sharing with prayer. Tell students that you must leave the room for just a moment and you will be right back. Leave the room for five minutes. CONNECT: (57 minutes) Upon your return, invite the students to have some refreshments. While they are enjoying the snacks, ask them to share their feelings or thoughts about waiting for the food. Did they think you were gone too long? Did they want to take the refreshments before you returned? Did anyone take something while you were gone? Say: The Israelites had been brought out of slavery and promised a new, special land, but they were in the desert waiting for further instructions, like you were waiting for the snacks.
