For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.
I Cor. 3:9
I Cor. 3:1-22
Our passage today is a continuation of a theme dear to Paul’s heart as he writes to the church at Corinthunity in the church. There are divisions among them and so Paul attempts to set them straight. What does it mean to be “of the flesh” a position no Corinthian would want to be in? It happens when people fight and quarrel. And what is the true church supposed to be like? It is like a field, and God causes the growth. It is a like a building with the foundation of Jesus Christ. And when the believers are together, the church is the new temple where God’s Spirit dwells.
