The Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into dry land; and the waters were divided. Reader 2: The Lord answered from out of the whirlwind Reader 4: At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem: A hot wind comes from me out of the bare heights in the desert toward my poor people, not to winnow or cleanse a wind too strong for that.
