| 2 Do you get caught up in the busyness of the season? What do you do to get back to the true meaning? Show clip #2: “The Family Dinner” Chapter 19 [1:04:09-1:09:05] This clip shows everything that could possibly go wrong happening at a family dinner. From the prayer to the turkey, the family is doomed to have the most untraditional Christmas ever. Reflection: 1 Tell us about a non-traditional Christmas that you’ve experienced. Was it more or less meaningful than a traditional Christmas? What makes Christmas meaningful? 2 If you were stranded on a desert island during Christmas, what would you miss the most? Now, assuming you had your family with you, what would you miss the most? Show clip #3: “No Christmas Bonus” Chapter 23 [1:16:22-1:18:30] In this clip, the father is so furious that he did not get a Christmas bonus and that his perfect tree was burned that he goes outside with a chain saw and cuts down an evergreen in his yard, sending it crashing into the neighbor’s window. He is reacting to everything that has gone wrong during the holidays. Reflection: 1 When have you been disappointed or frustrated with something that happened at Christmas? What did you do?
