| MATERIALS AND ADVANCE PREPARATION: 1 Bibles for each student 2 Bible concordances 3 Newsprint and markers SESSION OUTLINE FOCUS: Begin the session with the following question, and ask students to go to different sides of the room based on their answer: “Yes” answers to one side, and “no” answers to the other side. The question: Is God a techie? Discuss their answers. CONNECT WITH THE BIBLE STORY: Divide into small groups and hand out Bibles, concordances, newsprint and markers. Give the groups 30 minutes to complete this assignment: Find examples throughout the Bible of how God communicated with people. What kind of “technology” did God use? (Think rainbows, plagues, still small voice, Jesus’ parables, whales, visions, etc.) Make a list on the newsprint of the examples, and beside each example, note how successful it was. Bring the groups together and share the lists. Continued... |
