| MATERIALS AND ADVANCE PREPARATION: • Bibles for each student • Copies of the handout for each student • A basket of fruitenough for all students to have some • A pitcher of water • A men’s hairpiece • Women’s perfume • Place the fruit, water, hairpiece and perfume in four different corners of the room prior to the session. SESSION OUTLINE FOCUS: Welcome students and invite them to choose one corner of the room to sit in. When everyone has chosen a corner, ask them to explain why they chose it. Was it because of the item in that corner? EXPLORE THE BIBLE: Hand out the Bibles and handouts to students where they are seated and ask them to follow the instructions on the handouts. Depending on the comfort level of your students, they may want to discuss some of the questions as a group, and others are best left for personal reflection. When students have read and discussed all four women’s stories, ask them to decide which woman they can most identify with, and move to the part of the room symbolizing that woman’s story. In the new groups, invite students to share their responses with each other about that particular woman and how they connected with her. Continued... |
